Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £13.60 - £14.20 per hour
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our client’s children's residential home in Wolverhampton. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people, ensuring they receive high-quality care and support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in the daily running of the home, ensuring a high standard of care.
- Lead and mentor a team of support workers, promoting a positive and therapeutic approach to care.
- Assist in the development and implementation of care plans, behaviour management strategies, and risk assessments.
- Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed, addressing concerns appropriately.
- Maintain strong relationships with children, families, and external agencies to support holistic care.
- Monitor and record progress reports, observations, and key events in line with regulatory requirements.
- Act as a role model for staff and young people, encouraging personal growth and development.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 12 months of experience in a residential childcare setting.
- Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, covering long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- A compassionate and resilient approach to working with young people who may display challenging behaviours.
