Job Summary:
As a Team Leader in a residential children's home, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations and supporting the care team to provide the highest quality care for the children. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. Your leadership will foster a positive team dynamic, focused on delivering child-centered care, promoting staff development, and ensuring positive outcomes for the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff to ensure high standards of care and support are consistently provided.
- Promote a positive, inclusive working environment that encourages team collaboration and professional growth.
- Ensure staff are well-supported and trained to carry out their roles effectively, offering guidance and development opportunities.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist in ensuring the home operates in compliance with all relevant Ofsted regulations, legislation, and statutory requirements.
- Support the preparation for Ofsted inspections, contributing to maintaining at least a "Good" rating.
Safeguarding:
- Act as a safeguarding lead in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children in the home.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns promptly, following established procedures and statutory guidance to protect the well-being of the children.
Team and Resource Management:
- Manage staff rotas and oversee the delegation of duties, ensuring that staffing levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the children.
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the efficient use of resources and budget management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a senior role within a children's residential care setting.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and child protection.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
Desirable:
- Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).
- A proven track record of contributing to positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
