Job Summary:
As a Team Leader in a residential children's home, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations and supporting the care team to provide the highest quality care for the children. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. Your leadership will foster a positive team dynamic, focused on delivering child-centered care, promoting staff development, and ensuring positive outcomes for the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff to ensure high standards of care and support are consistently provided.
Promote a positive, inclusive working environment that encourages team collaboration and professional growth.
Ensure staff are well-supported and trained to carry out their roles effectively, offering guidance and development opportunities.
Regulatory Compliance:
Assist in ensuring the home operates in compliance with all relevant Ofsted regulations, legislation, and statutory requirements.
Support the preparation for Ofsted inspections, contributing to maintaining at least a "Good" rating.
Safeguarding:
Act as a safeguarding lead in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children in the home.
Respond to safeguarding concerns promptly, following established procedures and statutory guidance to protect the well-being of the children.
Team and Resource Management:
Manage staff rotas and oversee the delegation of duties, ensuring that staffing levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the children.
Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the efficient use of resources and budget management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
Previous experience in a senior role within a children's residential care setting.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and child protection.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
Desirable:
Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).
A proven track record of contributing to positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
