Job Title: Deputy Manager (Children’s Residential Home)

Salary: £32,042 rising to £33,664 plus an additional £3,000 - £6,000 for sleep-ins
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager (DM) for a children's residential home in Woolstone. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career within the social care sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the care team to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of young people.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, responding to any concerns appropriately.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies to support holistic care.
- Oversee staff training and development to maintain high levels of competency within the team.
- Participate in the on-call rota and support staff during sleep-in shifts when necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is preferred but candidates with a Level 3 in Health & Social Care and minimal experience working with children will be considered.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant social care legislation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
