Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Overview:
CPL UK Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our client in managing a children’s residential home in Ilford. This role is crucial in supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the delivery of exceptional care for young people aged 8-18.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people, encouraging independence and choice.
Oversee and supervise staff to ensure high standards of professional care.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of young people in collaboration with external professionals.
Ensure compliance with The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and other relevant standards.
Participate in recruitment, induction, and training of staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
Handle scheduling, rota management, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Manage safeguarding concerns, medication administration, and health & safety compliance.
Support young people in their development, relationships, and achieving positive outcomes.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and attend care reviews and meetings as required.
Act as the Manager in their absence, including being on-call as needed.
Requirements:
Experience in children’s residential care, ideally in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Relevant health or social care qualifications Level 4 Diploma, NVQ, or equivalent
Strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Flexible to work on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
