Job Title: Deputy Home Manager – Children’s Residential
Location: Crawley
Salary: From £33,664 PLUS an additional £62.64 for sleep-ins
Hours: Full Time – 39 hours per week, including 15 hours per week admin and 24 hours supporting our young people (including weekends and some sleep-ins)
Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence is required
Qualifications: A minimum Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care and experience in a children’s home environment is essential
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a children's residential home in the Crawley area.
This is an exciting time to take on a role with a leading provider of therapeutic care and education for children and young people with a variety of needs. Children come to live in residential care for different reasons, but they all require a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued and cared for. The aim is to create a secure setting filled with fun, laughter, and positive experiences, such as days out to theme parks, sports activities, and outdoor adventures.

What do you need?
- A minimum of 2 years’ management experience working within a Residential Children’s Home as a Senior, Team Leader, or Deputy
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or above in Children’s Residential Workforce
- Knowledge of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Highly driven, proactive, and enthusiastic
- A strong people manager with a hands-on approach
- Experience with budgets and rotas
- Full driving licence is essential
- Flexibility to work shifts and sleep-ins as required
About the Role:
The Deputy Manager will be part of a dedicated team providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people, under the leadership and guidance of a Registered Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality care services while supporting the strategic planning and management of the home
- Leading a team to ensure the delivery of therapeutic care and support focused on achieving the best outcomes for each child
- Acting as a positive role model for both staff and children
- Developing and maintaining trusting relationships that foster recovery, growth, and lasting change
- Supervising and mentoring staff
- Organising work schedules and facilitating care-focused training
- Ensuring access to appropriate services to support childcare practices within the home
