About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Residential Care Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people aged 8-18 in a residential care setting. The role involves providing emotional and practical support to children with trauma and behavioral challenges, helping them build resilience and essential life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Care & Support: Assist with routines, meals, hygiene, and bedtime, ensuring children feel safe and supported.
- Emotional Well-being: Build trusting relationships, offering guidance and coping strategies to support positive behaviors.
- Activity Planning: Organize educational, social, and recreational activities that promote development and self-esteem.
- Safeguarding: Monitor well-being, report concerns, and follow child protection procedures.
- Care Planning: Implement and review individualized care plans in collaboration with the team.
- Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate records on progress, incidents, and behavioral developments.
- Collaboration: Work alongside social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals for holistic support.
- Shift Work: Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working with children in residential or care settings.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).
